Elegant but Simple – It’s Worth It’s Weight in Gold
DeLonghi obviously took a long time over the design of the Magnifica because for such a high quality machine, it is so easy to use. The design, while simple and straightforward is also elegant. Everything about it is designed to simplify the coffee-making process. It is easy to fill with water, and easy to load the coffee beans. It has a very fast warm-up and is super easy to clean at the end. You can even pull out the brew mechanism and clean it.
When I was asking around for some testimonials, I came across an office, employing over 20 people, that have used the same DeLonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica Espresso Machine for 3 years now. It has proved to be a terrific workhorse and has been used by everyone multiple times a day. There has been no reduction in quality with espresso continuing to taste better than you get from Starbucks.
Great Espresso
There is no doubt that overall, this is the best super-automatic machine for under $1,000. In addition, if you are a regular coffee drinker then this machine can pay for itself inside 3 months. The quality from this Delonghi is even on a par with some manual models such as those from Rancillo or Expobar. It is the nearest you will come to tasting genuine Italian espresso without spending thousands on a manual or actually going to Italy. It produces great crema and provides a rich flavor at a nice and hot temperature.
Easy to Use
While it is easy to be attracted to fully digital controls, many including myself would much rather have manual control over the amount of coffee, coffee strength and so on. From this point of view the DeLonghi Magnifica is probably a bit more complicated for a beginner than some other models since you need to experiment a bit in order to get the flavor that you want. But once you get the right fineness of grind and quantity of grounds there is no looking back. All you need is a little time and patience. The great thing is that once you get it right, it will produce consistent coffee each and every time.
